Aim
of this workshop is to build and strengthen links between groups working
in genomics, molecular medicine, statistics, and mathematical modeling.
The cooperation between life- and methodological sciences allows to
achieve results relevant to medical progress in a more efficient way.
While microarrays have proven their utility as screening tools, new
perspectives are opening up for using systematic high throughput tools
as sharp instruments in understanding and treating disease.
The workshop touches on questions of technology, bioinformatics, clinical
epidemiology, ethics, and research strategies in order to broaden the
view towards a more systemic approach to research in molecular medicine.
Projects will be presented.
